Nissan reveal new 2020 Navara Off-Roader AT32
A tougher, harder, more off-road-focused Nissan Navara has been unveiled.
Known as the Off-Roader AT32, this pick-up truck has been described by Nissan as the most capable Navara to date as a result of a host of chassis upgrades and improvements. It’ll go on sale next month with prices estimated to be around £38,000–£40,000.
Typically these type of models are carried out strictly in-house, with evolutionary improvements where necessary. However the Navara Off-Roader AT32 was developed in partnership with British off-road conversion specialists Artic Trucks. Their expertise and input resulted in the addition of Bilstein suspension, a full aluminium underbody protection panel, top-of-the-range off-road tyres and an optional electronically locking front differential.
Naturally the AT32 comes equipped with all the same off-road technology as a standard Navara, including hill-start assist, hill descent control, 360-degree camera and smart emergency braking system. Those who plan to take the pickup on more challenging off-road adventures also have the option of a wing-mounted intake snorkel which allows the Navara to run through floods of up to 800mm.
Exterior-wise the Navara Off-Roader comes with several noticeable changes such as new matte-black twin-valve alloy wheels, flared wheels arches to match, plus new side decals and the same unique badging on the front wings, side-steps, tailgate and mud-guards that appear on the old model.
As a result of the AT32’s new wheels that sport whopping 32-inch tyres, the pickup is now 40mm taller and has an increased approach angle of 35 degrees and ground clearance of 243mm. The tyres can also be deflated to allow improved sand and ice driving, something that is a necessity for those real off-road experiences.
